Over the past ten years,
LAB4 have been taking center stage (and the roof off!!) wherever they
go. Playing alongside many of the world's greatest dance legends (the
likes of Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Skunk Anansie, Seal,
Kosheen and Underworld), Lab4 continue to crank out well-known hard
techno tunes, that hits hard as hell and moves a crowd to dance.
The legendary duo have played all over the world, in Holland, Germany,
Japan, Sweden, Finland, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. When
Lab 4 plays, dance party people from around the world scream!
The end of 2003 saw LAB4 take a number of awards - including Best Live
Act in the world by Mixmag magazine, Best Underground Live Act in the
UK, and 4th most popular band across all styles of music including Rock

Proteus is one of
Finland’s best Hard Edged DJ's playing styles such as Freeform, Hard
Style and Hard NRG. He has performed at gigs all over Europe including
massive events such as Dance Valley , Impulz Outdoor, 4 Elements,
Laboratory Experiment 2, Tidy Summer Camp, Atomic Energy , Logic and
more . Proteus has played alongside such DJs and live acts as Lab-4,
Astral Projection, Yoji Biomehanika, Captain Tinrib, Nuw Idol, K-90,
Nick Sentience, Opal, Andy Farley, Karim, Kevin Energy, Kai Tracid, Scot

Now up to Number 23, the Utopia series has been
the pinnacle of all night entertainment longer than any other party. With each
new event we practice a philosophy of change and a disciplined approach to
improvement over the past.
Last year in 2003 we launched the annual Utopia Electronic Music Festival (UEMF),
which brought together a staggering array of local, interstate and international
performers. The event incorporated the full spectrum of electronic music. From
Hard Trance to Hardcore, Acid to Breaks, UEMF showcased the best performers and
the widest range of music of any event in Australia.
It was the launch of something truly spectacular. Now in October 2004 we return
to the UEMF ideal, this time in the legendary Sydney Showground complex (SSC).
The SSC offers UEMF an unprecedented array of huge Exhibition venues, within
each will be housed one of our four music arenas. Our second UEMF will expand on
our ideals and inspiration behind this massive event, and will be the
culmination of what has been a years planning.
The Sydney Showground Complex and UEMF come together to supply Sydney with the
wildest night of dance music, with the best performers, best production and best
of everything available.
UEMF - CELEBRATING FOUR UNIQUE MUSIC ARENAS
At UEMF you will come face to face with some of the World’s best performers,
back up by the Countries leading techno visionaries. We will be creating two
equal size main arenas in which we will present the two leading music forces
behind the Sydney party scene. In the Arena 1.1 we offer you a selection of the
best Trance and Hard Dance, in arena 1.2 we present the most intense hardcore
and gabber experience. Both arenas offer an equal size for patron capacity, an
equal level of sophisticated production and an equal level of supremely
qualified performers.
We believe this is an important aspect of the UEMF experience as we bring
together the widest range of musical tastes, in gigantic all night party venue.
Backing up these two goliaths will be the Mashup arena and the Breaks arena.
Smaller in size but equally decked with quality production and performers, these
two smaller areas will offer our patrons an even wider choice of dancing
enjoyment. We will be utilising the same enormous arenas that we used for the
outstanding Two Tribes event, the massive Exhibition Halls connected to the
Dome. These venues offer us truly enormous space while providing for perfect
acoustics for each arena. Come and witness what UEMF has to offer, large and
loud.

Lighting, lasers, visuals & sound
Over the course of the past 10 years, companies around the world have been
creating newer and better entertainment equipment, products like 360 degree
rotating intelligent, computer controlled lights, high powered, multi mirror
laser systems, and sound cabinets, speaker boxes and bass cones that ever expand
the clarity and sheer volume of the sound they output. With each new invention
or technical advancement,
Powerhouse Productions and our key suppliers follow these improvements with a
keen eye. We continually update our equipment hire list to include these new
gadgets, in order to bring our patrons the very best on offer. We source
equipment from around the World and we take on ideas and solutions from all the
wildest parties in most major countries. This is a long way of saying we offer
the absolute best production for our patrons. If you think you've seen it all
before, well think again.
At UEMF you can expect to see fresh new lights flown in from
distant Countries, amazing new high powered laser systems and sound systems that
would make Pink Floyd green with envy. Together with all this amazing
technology, we add that extra touch, absolutely mind boggling visual display
screens surrounding the main performer console. These screens bring the main
stage to life with footage of the performers up close and personal, plus what we
believe is the best footage of all, footage of the crowd going nuts - live and
direct on the giant screens.

SASH! Germany
From club charts to dance floors, Sash has been a name synonymous with Techno
music for over a decade. His music has been played across the globe, and his
cdsales are phenomal with over 17 milion units sold worldwide. Without question,
one of the key pioneers of the dance music sound, and worldwide tours that have
taken him to the far reaches of our globe, Sash is more than a performer, he is
an entertainer and an educater. With massive hits under his belt like Equador,
MysteriousTimes, With my own Eyes, Sash brings a level of excitement to UEMF
that can only be experienced on the dance floor. Get ready Sydney, as Sash
brings us his unmistakable talent, on stage and on the decks at UEMF.
UNKNOWN Quosh Records - UK
Since the early 1990’s DJ Unknown has been at the forefront of the hardcore
movement in England, producing on his own label Quosh Records and playing at
such events as Dreamscape, World Dance, Fusion and more. He has toured the world
playing in the United States, Canada, Germany and Switzerland and is mow coming
downunder for the first time. Leading the hardcore charge the Quosh records
owner promises to deliver set of uplifting hardcore, including fresh new tunes
from his own label plus tracks from the past 10 years. If you like your music
hard, then get up front for the DJ Unknown.
NEOPHYTE DJ Jeroen – Rotterdam, Netherlands
With his career spanning more than a decade in the Techno industry, 10 years of
that producing Hardcore, he is without doubt one of the biggest Hardcore D.J. /
Producers in the World. With his popularity growing over the years, he has
played all over Europe, in such countries Austria, Belgium, France, Germany,
Italy, England and the U.S.A Neophyte is one of the label Managers for Mid-town
Records in the Netherlands, as well as recording and producing with the other
members of NEOPHYTE and other Hardcore acts and artists. Neophyte Records is one
of the biggest Hardcore labels in the world in which it captures a capacity
amount of listeners and dedicated followers, with new releases bigger and better

SCAM (a collaboration of "Krafty Kuts" &"The Freestylers" producing together)
- Deep Cut Recordings - UK
One of the founding members of SCAM, Chris from the Krafty Kuts will be
performing exclusively at UEMF and will showcase a set of blinding breaks from
his own productions, together with a selection of the best tunes from the likes
of the Freestylers, Krafty Kuts, and his own Deep Cut Recordings. Expect an
onslaught of the very best cutting edge breaks mashed up with a selection of
party beats. For all the Breaks lovers out there, UEMF has you covered, SCAM
style.
INTERSTATE DJS
GEORGE VAGAS Australia’s Hardcore Legend - Adelaide
Since the very beginning of the hardcore scene, one person has been at the helm
leading the Hardcore charge, with nitro fuelled, energy driven sets of screaming
hardcore and gabber. The one and only George Vagas. A pioneering hardcore
performer who has graced the decks at such legendary events as A Nightmare in
Rotterdam Part 4 with over 15,000 Hardcore Gabbers, plus releasing his tunes
around the world and pushing his mixes and his music on the Central Nervous
System CD releases. Vagas is coming back to Sydney to blow you away with an
exclusive set for Powerhouse Productions.
DAIR Next Generation- Kniteforce & Hecttech - Perth
One of Australia’s freshest Hardcore produces, DJ Dair has had releases on
labels such as Next Generation, Knite Force and Hechtech and shares producing
credits with the likes of Brisk, Ham, Luna C and more. He has headlined events
around the country and has held deck support for such hardcore visionaries as
Hixxy, Slipmatt, Robbie Long Scott Brown . . .the list goes on. Dair promises a
set filled with the best Breakbeat, Freeform, UK Hardcore and oldskool. A true
hardcore mashup, from a true Hardcore performer.
Utopia is recommended for people 16 and above. Alcohol can be obtained with 18+
photo ID.
