UTOPIA DECADE OF POWERHOUSE

In 1995 an event was born with an ideal of a reasonably priced party with a bunch of great local dj's and a vibe only created by up for it party people. That event was Utopia, and on a cold night in July of '95 the first Utopia was held. Over the course of the next few years, the Utopia event grew in size and morfed from an underground party to a legally promoted event in advertised venues. The step up to these larger legal warehouse in Homebush brought with it giant crowds, often doubling the amount of patrons from the previous event. From Utopia 7 to 10 the attendances doubled each time going from 1800 to 3200 then to 6000 and finally a staggering 10,000 people at Utopia 10 at Wonderland.

Now in 2005 Utopia is known as the leading all night dance party in Sydney, and is one of the biggest events of it's type in Australia. It's been running 10 years, and that in itself is an outstanding achievement.
It's a milestone that no other Sydney all night party has reached, 10 years of supplying aboslute killer parties, absolutely brilliant International, Interstate and Local talent, and absolutely phenomenal productions.

If you thought you'd seen some pretty outraegous Utopia parties over the years, just wait to see what we have instore for our 10th Birthday. To say you will be blown away is an understatement. You will in fact be in awe as you enter the giant main Dome arena, and you will be speechless as a cresendo of the best and most vibrant techology and music engulf you. This will be easily one of the most spectacular and moving events of it's kind in Australia. A perfect sympony of the ultimate in party technology, lasers so bright and colourful, lighting twirling and spinning and creating rainbows around you, bass oozing through the floor and up your spine.

KAI TRACID – Germany -Tracid Traxxx

Since 1997 Kai Tracid has been a pivotal player in the Worldwide Acid/Trance scene, producing killer tunes such as 'Trance and Acid', 'Too Many Times' and 'Life Is Too Short', plus being label owner of Tracid Traxx. His love of dj'ing has seen him grace the main stage of the World's biggest events such as Gatecrasher, Godskitchen and Europe's biggest dance event Love Parade. Kai's philosophy and what you can expect from him at Utopia 10th Birthyday is quite simple . . . "a love of music, a feeling for new musical trends and, above all, remaining true to oneself."

Prepare for an amazing and almost mystical experience as the leader of the trance acid genre brings it on at Utopia.

DJ LUNA – Netherlands - ID&T / Q-DANCE
DJ Luna was runner up at the Dutch DJ Awards last year, beating well known DJ's like Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk with only Tiesto ahead of him. It is fair to say that he is considered to be the most popular DJ of the world within his genre. That genre is hardstyle, a recently developed style within the electronic dancemusic that originates from Holland and is characterized by a mix of hard pounding bass- and kickdrums and energetic melodies. His career has rocketed mainly by the way he presents himself behind the decks, his fabulous mixing skills and the total dedication and passion for his work.

ROBBIE LONG – UK Thin 'n' Crispy

Robbie is A true veteran to UK hardcore. One of the scenes longest standing producers and easily one of the most skilled DJ's when it comes to tightness, chopping and scratching on the 1s and 2s. Robbie boasts 11 years of loyalty to the Uk hardcore scene by kikin'
off his career on the south coasts Interdance. Moving quickly up to events like Kenetic and Helter Skelter Robbie was fast on the road to success.

Not satisfied with being just a DJ Robbie soon took to production and has graced the UK's top record labels with Rockin' releases on Next Generation, Blatant Beatz, Bonkers, Uprising and many more. Now Robbie forms part of the hugely successful 'Nu Energy Collective' with his Thin n Crispy record label.

His current mission is pushing two styles of hardcore Robbie bangs upfront Hardcore in the style of his anthems 'PSA' and 'Blow The Roof'
(Which have also been signed to Sharkey's Bonkers mix) He also educates the scene with his new breakbeat style of hardcore that's sweeping the Uk right now.

THE PROPHET – Germany -Scantraxx

Label called Scantraxx, which has already grown into one of the most cutting edge labels within the Hardstyle scene. Instrumental within the Hard scene, The Prophet is one of the original members of the legendary Dreamteam.

Considered a true pioneer of Hardstyle, The Prophet was one of the first DJs to play Hardstyle records at a HouseQlassics event in Utrecht back in 1999.

The Prophet plays and produces music to make people dance!! So be prepared to raise the roof when he performs some of his new banging trance beats in the main arena - an unbelievable performance you are never going to forget. www.djtheprophet.com

LADY DANA – Netherlands -Danamite Records

Dana van Dreven started DJ-ing in 1993 and since then she has developed her own style. A style that can best be described as a crossover between different genres of hard dance music with a rough feminine touch.

In 2004, Dana obtained the 29th position of the famous English MixMag list of best DJ's in the world. Also, she has been nominated already twice for the TMF Awards, the Dutch music television channel. In 2004, she ended on 4th place at these awards. Dana's first record on her label, "Dana - Restyled', was released in the beginning of 2004 and was very well received by the public, while her second release, "Dana - Back In Time", is currently storming the charts.

DJ AMS – UK - Nu Energy Collective

AMS - a rising name that has achieved high levels of respect from both the music Industry and its followers. AMS' Hard Dance and Hardcore production work has stood out from his career's inception. As well as his Hard Trance, AMS has been responsible for some of the most talked about productions in the Hardcore Scene. His latest collaboration with Robbie Long (Feelin' Good) was snapped up for the 11th edition in the Bonkers range. As well as this he has also had 3 other collaborated tracks (Freedom, Bodygroove and Twist of faith) that appeared on the previous release 'Bonkers X', not to mention three other tracks (Mind Control, Where's the party at? and Inverted reality) that made it onto the series through bonkers 8 & 9.

The talents of AMS stretch much further than being a genius in the studio however! AMS always provides the right tracks at the right time by reading crowds and picking the right vibe to create that magic buzz.
An amazingly skilled producer in his own right and an energetic DJ, AMS is a durable name that will be talked about for years to come.

VENUE SPECIFICATIONS

Over the past few years The Sydney Showground has become synonymous with massive all night Dance Parties, including Utopia, Godspeed, Two Tribes plus the massive Big Day Out. For Utopia 10th Birthday we are utilising the same massive arena that is used for the Boiler Room at each years BDO. The monstrous circular arena comprises a ceiling height of some 20 odd meters, an internal diameter of 89.7m and a floor size of 7200sqm. What this all means is our main arena alone can comfortably hold over 10,000 party people, and that's without including the other arenas or the outdoor areas. To say this is a giant party venue would be an understatement.

So what can we do with such a large main arena, well its our 10th Birthday so you've gotta be thinking we're going to pull out all the stops to bring together the absolute best production, the biggest lasers, the loudest sound and the most colour lights. We are once again bringing in the creative team from BLM Productions who will be installing and operating enough equipment to fill a couple of semi trailers. Just imagine a giant

circular stadium filled to overflowing with giant multi head full colour laser systems, slamming through the venue with beams and sheets of laser light. Powerful moving heads of light disperse the wildest rainbow of colours throughout the pulsating crowd, while goliath size speaker stacks rumble and vibrate and send shivers down your spine.

This is our 10th Birthday, and we're bringing you our party in one of Australia's largest entertainment venues. Prepare for blast off as Utopia 10th Birthday explodes on the Anzac Weekend.

Over the course of the past 10 years, companies around the world have been creating newer and better entertainment equipment, products like 360 degree rotating intelligent, computer controlled lights, high powered, multi mirror laser systems, and sound cabinets, speaker boxes and bass cones that ever expand the clarity and sheer volume of the sound they output. With each new invention or technical advancement,Powerhouse Productions and our key suppliers follow these improvements with a keen eye. We continually update our equipment hire list to include these new gadgets, in order to bring our patrons the very best on offer. We source equipment from around the World and we take on ideas and solutions from all the wildest parties in most major countries. This is a long way of saying we offer the absolute best production for our patrons. If you think you've seen it all before, well think again.

At Utopia 10th Birthday you can expect to see fresh new lights flown in from distant Countries, amazing new high powered laser systems and sound systems that would make the World's biggest dance parites green with envy.
Together with all this amazing technology, we add that extra touch, absolutely mind boggling visual display screens surrounding the main performer console. These screens bring the main stage to life with footage of the performers, up close and personal, plus what we believe is the best footage of all, footage of the crowd going nuts - live and direct on the giant screens.
